WHAT IS OUR PURPOSE
We Celebrate and Support the ecosystem of the Salish Sea region by designing and providing products for sale and licensing created by artists and writers in our co-operative to assist in the preservation and restoration of the Salish Sea region.
HOW WE ACHIVE THIS PURPOSE
Salish Sisters celebrates and supports the ecosystem of the Salish Sea region by providing products for sale and licensing created by its artists ~ a proceed of which going to *deserving entities and organizations that align with our purpose and goals. We share our region, knowledge, talents, time and experience to preserve the Salish Sea. *Ours is a new organization and these non-profits have yet to be determined and will be publicly posted on our website soon.
OUR REGION OF THE WORLD
The Salish Sea is located on the Pacific or West Coast of North America encompassing a section of inland waterways stretching from the southern end of Puget Sound in the United States north to Desolation Sound at the northern end of the Strait of Georgia in British Columbia, Canada.
The Salish Sea is a marginal sea of the Pacific Ocean located in the Canadian province of British Columbia and the U.S. state of Washington. It includes the Strait of Georgia, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, Puget Sound, and an intricate network of connecting channels and adjoining waterways. This rich and vibrant ecosystem is home to 37 species of mammals, 172 species of birds, 253 species of fish, and more than 3,000 species of invertebrates. Nearly eight million people make this region their home today while billions of dollars are generated annually by Salish Sea commercial and recreational activities.
